Daniel Schwarz studied political science and public law at the universities of Bern and Sheffield. In 2009 he received his Ph.D. (legislative studies) from the University of Bern. A personal grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) provided him with the opportunity to carry out his own research project at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2011-2013. Since then, he has been active in the field of electoral and party research in several SNSF projects (including SNSF "Digital Lives", NRP 77). Daniel Schwarz is co-founder of the Swiss voting advice application “smartvote” and the legislative monitoring platform “smartmonitor”.
