Caroline Schlaufer is a research associate and lecturer at the KPM and has led the policy stream of the Ethics and Policy Lab at the MCID, University of Bern, since 2022. Her research interests focus on the interaction between science and politics, systems of policy advice, the political use of scientific evidence, and the role of narratives in policymaking.
Her work at the Ethics and Policy Lab also includes services for public administration and political decision-makers. In this context, she conducts applied research projects aimed at developing socially acceptable and practically implementable policy measures.
Caroline Schlaufer completed her PhD in Public Administration at the University of Bern in 2016. From 2017 to 2021, she worked as Professor of Public Policy at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. Her research has been published in leading journals, including Public Administration Review, Governance, Policy Studies Journal, Policy & Politics, and Review of Policy Research.
Caroline Schlaufer is a member of the Editorial Board of Policy & Politics.
